Quality Assurance and Analysis

Since 1995 the installations and laboratories of Völpker Spezialprodukte GmbH are operated under a quality management system certified in conformity with ISO 9001:2008. This also ensures planned management of incoming, intermediate and final controls.

The Quality Assurance Laboratory is operated 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The testing facilities are continuously updated in keeping with the very latest standards. Moreover, they are subject to an inspectorate regime so that they are regularly checked and calibrated at defined intervals.

Waxes

The analytical control of different types of wax is completed by high-temperature gas chromatography and with a differential scanning calorimeter. The methods were developed by the company and ensure that the quality and composition of the raw materials for the waxes can be monitored with great accuracy.

Tanning Agents

Optical emission spectral analysis (OES) with inductively coupled plasma (ICP) is used for elementary analysis of our tanning agents. This enables Völpker Spezialprodukte GmbH to conduct comprehensive heavy-metal analyses for incoming and outgoing controls.

Wax Grinding

In the wax grinding section particle analysis is carried out by a modern imaging system. The fine particles dispersed in the air are conducted through the focal plane of the optical system. Images with 1 Mpixel resolution are generated with a pulsed light source with a light duration of <1 ns and a high-speed camera. This system incorporates a high-performance signal processor and a 1.25 Gbit data line so that all image data can be processed in real time, even at speeds of 500 frames/s, and stored in the PC data base.
